Audiotonix Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of DPA Microphones, Wisycom and Austrian Audio

Audiotonix has announced a significant expansion of its professional audio portfolio with plans to acquire three respected brands in microphone and wireless audio technology. DPA Microphones, Wisycom and Austrian Audio are set to join the Audiotonix group, subject to regulatory approval, with completion expected in the first half of 2026.

The move represents a strategic broadening of Audiotonix’s scope beyond its established strengths in mixing consoles, signal processing and monitoring. By bringing together expertise in sound capture, RF transmission and audio engineering, the company aims to strengthen its position across the full professional audio signal chain.

DPA Microphones brings more than 60 years of microphone design heritage to the group. Founded in Denmark, the company is widely recognised for its high-precision condenser microphones, which are used extensively in live sound, theatre, broadcast, film production and installation environments. DPA’s reputation is built on consistency, reliability and an uncompromising approach to audio accuracy.

Italian manufacturer Wisycom adds advanced wireless audio and RF expertise. Known for its robust and flexible wireless systems, Wisycom serves demanding broadcast, live event and location sound markets where spectrum efficiency and transmission stability are critical. Its focus on RF engineering aligns closely with modern production requirements in increasingly congested frequency environments.

Completing the trio is Austrian Audio, a Vienna-based company founded in 2017 by former AKG engineers. The brand has quickly established itself with a range of microphones, headphones and audio tools that reflect Austria’s long-standing acoustic engineering tradition, combined with contemporary design and manufacturing approaches.

These brands will join an existing Audiotonix portfolio that includes companies spanning live sound, broadcast, studio recording and immersive audio. The group’s structure allows its brands to operate independently while benefiting from shared resources, technical collaboration and long-term strategic support.

Audiotonix CEO James Gordon said the acquisitions reflect a deliberate strategy to bring together complementary technologies that serve overlapping professional user bases. He noted that closer alignment between microphones, wireless systems and audio processing creates opportunities for deeper integration across performance and production workflows.

From the perspective of the incoming brands, joining Audiotonix offers access to a wider ecosystem of professional audio technologies and markets. DPA Microphones’ leadership highlighted the strong alignment between the companies’ customer communities and a shared commitment to premium performance and innovation.

The planned acquisitions underline a wider trend within the professional audio industry towards consolidation and closer integration of capture, transmission and processing technologies. With this latest move, Audiotonix continues to position itself as a key player shaping the future direction of professional audio.
