Barefoot releases MicroMain45

The Barefoot Sound MicroMain45 takes on many of the designs of the flagship MiniMain12 studio monitors including signal path, amplifier and driver technologies to deliver similar performance at a lower cost.

The monitor follows the success of the Barefoot MicroMain 27 which is in use in studios worldwide and championed by legendary mixers and producers such as Michael Brauer, Butch Vig and many others.

Although the MM45 does not feature the dual force cancelling drivers and MEME DSP technology of its forebears, it sports the same 1in ring radiator tweeter complemented by Hypex amplification as the Barefoot’s flagship monitors. A new 8in has been specifically designed to provide the best bass reproduction.

Other features of the three-way active monitor include frequency response of 40Hz-45kHz (±3dB), 53Hz-40kHz (±1dB), and bass response of -3dB @ 40Hz, Q = 0.707, Slope = 12 dB/octave.

The cabinet has a total internal volume of 14 litres, a machined aluminium baffle plate, and long fibre wool acoustic damping throughout. Power consumption when idle is 18W, with a maximum of 400W.
