BVE 2016: Panel to discuss audio networking developments

Details of the panel session Audio Networking – Protocols, Standards and Next Steps at BVE 2016 have been revealed.

At the ExCeL-based event later this month, a five-person panel comprising audio consultant Roland Hemming; ALC NetworX senior product manager Andreas Hildebrand; Lawo international sales and project manager Tobias Kronenwett; BBC Radio Engineering senior technologist Jamie Laundon and Revolabs CTO Tim Root will discuss what audio networking is, why and how it is used, and share the latest developments.

Panelists will give recommendations for interoperability of audio-over-IP environments, insights into the various pro-audio challenges involved, and more. Lastly, the group will explain what technologies are available, including AVB, CobraNet, Dante, and Ravenna.

"Audio networking is becoming increasingly ubiquitous. As more equipment is placed on the network, finding an interoperable and flexible solution is key. This panel will highlight the latest developments in audio networking standards and protocols," said Root (pictured). "By examining the language of each standard and providing some best practices for interoperability, attendees will gain valuable insight into networking fundamentals."

The session will take at 3:30pm on 23 February at the AV & Live Theatre.
