GearFest Online

GearFest Online returns this month with Peter Frampton joining 2021 lineup

Legendary rocker Peter Frampton will appear at GearFest 2021 this month, joining a strong lineup that also includes mix engineer Chris Lord-Alge, DJ Jazzy Jeff and singer Lisa Loeb.

Run by US retailer Sweetwater, the free annual GearFest event is now in its 20th year and will take place online for the second year in a row, due to the pandemic.

GearFest Online will feature a mix of online seminars, workshops, live performances, artist appearances, exclusive sales and over $50,000 in gear giveaways.

The two-day virtual event will be packed with performances, panels, tutorials, expert advice, and more from a range of music icons, Grammy-winning artists and engineers.

Frampton will sit down for a live interview covering his career, inspirations, and his latest work.

Other presenters on the 2021 lineup include legendary session and touring bassist Doug Wimbish, producer and drummer Bianca Richardson and guitar virtuoso Steve Vai.

The event will also feature the Virtual Gear Expo, where attendees can find detailed product overviews, sound samples, and demos of the newest gear on the market from all the big names including Fender, Roland, Yahama, Sennheiser and Pearl.

“After having a successful online GearFest in 2020, we’re excited to offer another virtual GearFest experience this year,” said Sweetwater Founder and CEO Chuck Surack. “While there’s nothing quite like having 20,000 people from all around the world in person on our campus, we still want to allow the opportunity for people to experience GearFest. In 2020, we brought more than 125,000 people together virtually, this year we hope to bring even more of our passionate musician friends and customers together.”

GearFest Online takes place on June 25-26 – head over to the GearFest Online website to get involved.
