German loudspeaker manufacturer d&b audiotechnik has launched a certified pre-owned (CPO) program, which allows users to purchase re-manufactured d&b systems and hardware.

The CPO initiative is part of the company’s sustainable development goal, as adopted by UN member states in 2015, and the corporate social responsibility direction established by the European Union. 

“The CPO program means our systems are more accessible than ever before,” says Ammon Harman, CEO. “At a time when the entire entertainment industry has been challenged, remanufacturing extends the life of a d&b system with all the benefits of buying new.” 

The remanufacturing process involves each system undergoing an exterior, mechanical and acoustic check, with a full-system inspection to check for damage. Foam and seals are replaced, and the exterior repainted with the original d&b top coat. 

Before a change of ownership, loudspeakers are meticulously dismantled, tested and certified by d&b technicians to meet original factory quality standards, says the company, every Certified Pre-Owned system includes new amplification and electronics.

The manufacturer says all pins, rigging, links, wheels, latches, frames and chains are inspected for damage, tested and replaced if needed, ending with the product going through the same frequency and impedance checks as new products. 

The CPO program is currently on offer for its J-Series large format system. 

“The J-Series is our first Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) offering. This established large-format system continues to tour globally, its sonic performance proving suitable for any event style or genre.”

The CPO program systems features the same service, finance, accessories  and support as a new system, including a two year warranty and a five year factory warranty for all new parts.
