Gibson debuts studio recording YouTube show Behind the Board

Gibson TV, an online streaming platform operated by the iconic guitar maker, has launched a new series which takes an inside look at the world of studio recording. Behind the Board is available free to watch on the Gibson TV YouTube channel.

In the debut episode, the Gibson TV team interview Ken Andrews (pictured above), of the band Failure, and discuss the writing, recording and production of the band’s latest album In The Future Your Body Will Be The Furthest Thing From Your Mind.

Formed in Los Angeles, Failure came to prominence with the release of the album Fantastic Planet. While disbanding in 1997, the band reformed in 2015 and released The Heart Is A Monster. After extensive touring sharing stages with the likes of Tool, Swervedriver and HUM, Failure released In the Future… in 2018.

Failure front man Ken Andrews is also an acclaimed producer and mixer, having produced and mixed albums by Beck, Chris Cornell, Blink 182, Paramore, Pete Yorn, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle and Stone Temple Pilots.

Other TV shows from Gibson TV include The Process, a ‘cinematic’ look at the main Gibson USA Factory in Nashville, which delves into the physical process of how a Gibson guitar is made as well as featuring the artisans who make them; The Collection, in which host Mark Agnesi takes viewers on a deep dive into the extraordinary, personal guitar collections of music’s biggest artists; The Songbook, an acoustic-driven, all-performance series featuring stripped down performances in beautiful spaces from world-renowned artists and up-and-coming musicians and Riff Lords, a tutorial series for viewers to learn their favourite riffs direct from the artists who wrote them.
