IBC2016: Clear-Com expanding LQ Series

Clear-Com is unveiling new LQ software and three new IP connectivity devices to add to the LQ Series family at IBC2016.

LQ devices can now connect directly to the Eclipse HX matrix, which enables routing of intercom audio and signals across large distances. They provide universal connectivity between any industry-standard 2-wire or 4-wire intercom system or audio source, anywhere over the IP network.

The three new models are the LQ-4WG2 (2 x 4-wire + GPIO), which comes as a small and portable unit, and the LQ-R4WG8 (8 x 4-wire + GPIO) and LQ-R2W4-4WG4 (4 x 2-wire and 4 x 4-wire + GPIO), which are both 1RU form. The new models add a third connection type to the LQ series – 4-wire audio with GPIO signalling in a 9-way connector – ideal for linking 2-way radios or audio and trigger signals over a IP network or the internet.

As well as launching the three new models, Clear-Com has enabled all LQ devices to connect to the Eclipse HX matrix via the IVC-32-HX IP card. This allows industry-standard intercom systems or 2-way radios to be connected to the Eclipse HX matrix across buildings, cities or even countries over an IP infrastructure or the internet. Users can also now move high quality audio signals, such as programme feeds from IFBs providing full 20Khz audio bandwidth, between LQ devices.

The Core Configuration Manager software (CCM) for setting up and linking the LQ devices has also been updated with faster and more efficient system edits. The modern and contemporary user interface that is accessible from a browser makes it easy for users to configure all LQ devices, and they can also upgrade their existing LQ units to the latest software, which can be downloaded from the Clear-Com website.

Stephen Sandford, product manager at Clear-Com, said, “These new features and models are valuable additions to the LQ family, enabling remote IP connections to the matrix and allowing users to link 2-way radios over any IP network connection. The LQ provides faultless audio and signalling anywhere on the network without loss of clarity. This is combined with the quick, intuitive and simple installation that makes LQ an essential connectivity product.”

The new LQ models, together with a broad range of Clear-Com’s communications systems, will be available for demonstration on Stand 10.D29 at the IBC Show this weekend.
