InfoComm 2015: OCA Alliance to showcase new control initiatives

The OCA Alliance is promoting its vision of common, open standard, real time network control at InfoComm 2015.

The Alliance’s booth (# 211) will feature a live demonstration of control and monitoring across networked audio devices from various manufacturers with different transport protocols, including OCA-enabled products from Bosch Communications, d&b audiotechik and Focusrite.

Technical and product specialists from the Alliance will also be on hand on the booth to provide information and answer questions from visitors and exhibitors.

Open Control Architecture (OCA) – due to be ratified as an official AES standard – is a language that allows for common real time remote control and monitoring of audio networks using any available transport protocol (Dante, AVB, AES67, Cobranet, etc.). During InfoComm the OCA Alliance will discuss new projects currently in development for lightweight implementation of OCA in smaller embedded devices, and investigate ‘discovery’ standardisation.

New OCA-enabled products are being launched at InfoComm by member companies, including the installation-focused d&b 10D and 30D amplifiers, and Bosch PRS-4OMI4 OMNEO interface, which provides OMNEO and OCA connectivity to the Praesideo voice alarm system and DCN multimedia conferencing systems.

Bosch Communications Systems platform strategist Ethan Wetzell (pictured) commented: “As a manufacturer we are very happy to see the OCA ecosystem continue to expand. As we continue to extend OCA functionality into new markets, with products such as DCN multimedia and the PRS-4OMI4, we can see the new integration possibilities that OCA is creating."
