ISE 2015: Alcons to showcase latest pro-ribbon tech

Alcons Audio will display its latest pro-ribbon sound systems at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show in Amsterdam.

Located at booth 6-N148, Alcons will present selections from its point-source, point-source array, line-source and line-array sound system lines. Leading the pack will be the production version of the CRMSCompact, a Cinema Reference Monitor System fitted with a pro-ribbon mid-high frequency transducer and featuring pro-ribbon main loudspeakers, timbre-matching pro-ribbon surround loudspeakers, ultra-shallow subwoofers and dedicated processing and amplification.

Also on show will be the RR12 point-source system – designed to be deployed as tight-packed arrays for controlled, seamless sound coverage in a wide variety of audience areas – and the QR24 pro-ribbon line-source column, a solution delivering full-range high SPL HiFi sound quality with "unparalleled speech intelligibility in even the most reverberant rooms," without the need for DSP-based beamsteering.

And rounding out the company’s showing, the LR7 micro pro-ribbon line-array claims to possess the industry’s best size/weight-to-throw ratio, being no wider than three CDs, and is designed for for demanding AV projects, while the Sentinel amplified loudspeaker controller offers 4-in/4-out, 192kHz AES/EBU digital inputs, Linux-based operation, full-colour touch-screen and encoder control and up to 10kW true audiophile-grade amp stages.
