Mira Wölfel heading up sales and planning for Prolight + Sound

Messe Frankfurt’s Mira Wölfel has assumed responsibility for the new Sales & Planning Department of Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound.

In her new role, Wölfel will take control of sales activities, customer support and planning and organisation for the two fairs, with a particular emphasis on opening up new markets and customer segments. She reports to Michael Biwer, group show director of the organisation’s Entertainment, Media & Creative Industries Business Unit.

The move is part of a comprehensive reorganisation that involves integrating the teams of both events in several different fields of activity. The aim of the restructure is to consolidate expert knowledge, make full use of synergistic effects and optimise contacts with associations, exhibitors, visitors, key communicators and partners.

Wölfel studied International Relations at Saint Joseph University in Beirut and has been with Messe Frankfurt since 2005. She initially worked in the Visitor Services Department before moving to sales in 2011. As sales manager in the Group’s Consumer Goods Business Unit, she was responsible for the world’s leading consumer goods fair, Ambiente, and the related Tendence trade fair. In July 2015, she moved to the Prolight + Sound sales team, where she was most recently in charge of the audio section.
