NAMM 2017: Amphion to unveil new mobile monitoring system

Finnish manufacturer Amphion Loudspeakers has announced the availability of MobileOne12, a new mobile studio monitor system that will be presented during the upcoming NAMM Show in California.

The portable studio monitor system features the compact One12 studio monitors along with a pair of Amp100 mono block amplifiers and Amphion’s professional grade speaker cables, all housed in a sturdy wooden padded travel case.

One12 utilises a 1in titanium dome tweeter set in a Corian wave guide aligned with a 4.5in custom designed SEAS woofer, delivering tight and even lows for speakers with such a small footprint. This approach, together with a very low crossover (1600Hz) ensure a solid “phantom” centre image, ‘exceptional’ time and phase coherence, 3D soundstage and imaging, and an extremely wide and deep sweet spot.

“One of the really nice things about the One12 is that you can listen to it up really close if you need to,” said Anssi Hyvönen, founder and managing director of Amphion Loudspeakers. “I think of it as a large pair of high-resolution headphones which are very comfortable to wear all day long, but also allow sharing the experience with the production team while taking the room out of the equation.”

MobileOne12 is ideally suited for home studios, small post production edit bays, mobile trucks or FoH where space is a precious commodity.

The system will be presented during NAMM 2017, 19-22 January, 2017, on Booth 6314. MobileOne12 sells for $2,800/€2,520 and is available at authorised Amphion dealers everywhere.
