New Raycom base station in production

Raycom’s latest version of its full-duplex talkback base station, launched at NAB in Las Vegas, is now in full production sporting a black finish.

The rack mounting RTB6211D is a fourth generation design utilising Kenwood ‘NEXEDGE’ radios. This gives the RTB6211D the ability to work just as happily in the digital domain as analogue.

The handheld to partner the RTB6211D is the Kenwood NX-320. In digital mode, using the NEXEDGE functionality, two channels can be accommodated by a single 12.5kHz spacing, doubling spectrum efficiency. It is also possible to still enjoy the features of the RTB6211D, including its ability to operate in dual TX or RX as well as full duplex and ‘talk-thru’ Modes, using the majority of analogue handhelds.

Raycom MD Pyers Easton said: “I am very proud to see the latest update to our popular workhorse base station being enthusiastically accepted in the both domestic and worldwide markets. The new features, made possible due to our strong partnership with JVC Kenwood, were very much based on customer feedback. With RTB6211D we believe we have created the talkback base station design for others to follow.”
