Peavey FX2 Series arrives in the UK

The full line of Peavey FX2 Series mixers is now available in the UK through distributor Barnes & Mullins.

With twice the processing power of the original FX mixers, the FX2 Series have had more than just a simple facelift, offering technological improvements and greater capabilities in almost every area of their specification, according to the supplier.

Available in 16, 24 and 32-channel models, the FX2 models boast a range of features that make them ideal for both studio and live situations. Silencer mic preamps produce ‘crystal-clear’ signal reproduction by allowing very high gain with low noise and distortion; four pre-fader auxes per channel provide four monitor mixes and the built-in or outboard effects can be added using two post-fader auxes; and the mixers also contain a wealth of built-in effects in the form of delay, compression, reverb, chorus, flanger, de-esser, expander, tube emulator, gate and vocal enhancer.

Dual DSP engines mean multiple simultaneous effects can be assigned to any channel as well. USB ports enable users to easily record rehearsals and performances directly to a USB stick before being transferred to a computer.

Peavey’s automated EQ system, Feedback Ferret, recognises and eliminates unwanted frequencies meaning feedback issues are controlled and do not become an problem even when in the hands of those with little experience of mixing live sound. An LCD screen also allows for quick and simple programming, further highlighting the FX2 Series’ accessibility for casual gigging musicians as well as more hardened sound engineers.

The FX2 16, 24 and 32 channel mixers retail for £965, £1,298 and £1,533 respectively.
