PL+S Shanghai introducing Recording & Production Zone

Messe Frankfurt will launch a new Recording and Production Zone at Prolight + Sound Shanghai 2016, which takes place in Halls N1 to N3 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 26 – 29 October.

To complement the new area, industry experts and individuals from recording institutions and leading brands will discuss some of the latest development trends in sound and production through an array of technology-focused forums, product demonstrations and the new Sound @ PLSS Studio.

With the aim of expanding their business in the Asian market, major brands from across the industry will be represented in the Recording and Production Zone, including Ableton, ADAM Audio, AKG, Apogee, Avid, Audio-Technica, Behringer, Beyerdynamic, Cymatic Audio, Dbx, Digitech, DPA, Eventide, Focal, Focusrite, Gibson, JBL, KRK, MOTU, Native Instruments, Neutrik, Novation, PMC, Radial Engineering, RME, Rupert Neve, Rycote, sE Electronics, Sennheiser, Soundcraft, Tascam, TC Electronic, Tubetech and Universal Audio.

Hong Kong-based exhibitor Digital Media Technology (DMT) will present a broad range of brands on its booth. “As recording and production products are one of DMT’s core businesses, we are hoping to connect with target customers from professional recording, audio and music production sectors at the Shanghai show, and to increase the exposure of Native Instruments in the Eastern Chinese market,” said DMT marketing manager Mr Ken Chang.

The Recording Technology Forum will also return with more industry experts and professors on the line-up. One of the speakers, Mr Andrew Levine, head of the department of music and word production of the Verband Deutscher Tonmeister (VDT), the Association of German Sound Engineers, will explain the latest microphone technology and analogue-to-digital conversion in studio recording. The Recording Engineers Committee’s inauguration of the China Association of Recording Engineers will be held during the fair as well.

Co-organised with the Audio Professional Committee of the China Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (CSMPTE) and leading brands, the Forum will address the technology and application of recording and production equipment for film and television.

Visitors can create their own mixes by using some of the latest recording products and technology from well-known brands in the Sound @ PLSS Studio, which is supported by Chinese online industry media Midifan.
