Prolight + Sound: Amadeus Philharmonia speakers on show

Amadeus will reveal its new Philharmonia speakers at the 2015 Prolight + Sound show in Frankfurt, Germany from 15 – 18 April.

The new speakers, built for professional recording as well as home hi-fi use, will be on show at Hall 8, Stand G 19. Amadeus worked with award-winning French architect Jean Nouvel to create the new speakers for their first use in the 5.1 surround studios at the newly opened Philharmonie de Paris, a building designed by Nouvel’s company Ateliers Jean Nouvel.

Bernard Byk, co-founder and CEO of Amadeus commented, "Imagine a reference sound reinforcement system, adapted to the dimension of this architectural gem with exceptional design, ergonomics and acoustics; it’s a kind of consecration!"

"Jean Nouvel’s imagination, exuberance and creative genius brought a brilliant solution beyond the original specifications. Amadeus especially praises tradition. Combining innovation and timeless beauty, this system embodies the know-how, the creativity and the values on which we have been building our history for more than 35 years," he continued.

Top recording engineer, musician and artist Thierry Coduys, whose clientele include Pascal Dusapin, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Luciano Berio, and Marielle et Katia Labeque, was one of the first to listen to the prototype of the reference speaker. He recalled: "Experiencing the Philharmonia, perceiving their transparency, smoothness, and accuracy – and discovering or rediscovering musical masterpieces – is a unique, sensory and artistic experience."
