Rhodes relaunches as Rhodes Music Group

Electric piano brand Rhodes has returned under new management, and has been rebranded to Rhodes Music Group Ltd.

The UK-based firm will be headed up by new Chairman Matt Pelling who said: “Our mission is to continue founder Harold Rhodes’ development of the highest quality musical instruments.”

While the brand has fallen out of the limelight in recent years, the company hopes to reignite its fortunes by building on the company’s heritage and rewarding its loyal users with new products.

“The Rhodes brand exists because of the unmistakable sound of our keyboards and our incredibly loyal fanbase,” said Pelling.

The relaunch promises a range of new instruments that will ‘future-proof’ the legendary brand.

“Love for Rhodes electric pianos has created extensive online communities of passionate owners and enthusiasts, which we celebrate,” said Pelling. “Dedication to progress fuels our passion for music performance and production, along with our desire to see the legacy of the Rhodes keyboard continue far into the future.

“We will stay true to Rhodes’ heritage whilst future-proofing the Rhodes brand for new generations of artists, with an evolving suite of beautifully designed, lovingly made and inspirational music products.”

First developed by Harold Rhodes in the 1940s, the pianos were previously sold under the Fender brand during the ‘60s and went through several incarnations with different companies before finally being sold under the Rhodes banner since 1997.
