Sontronics releases SOLO dynamic microphone

British mic manufacturer Sontronics has announced that SOLO, a new supercardioid dynamic microphone that was first unveiled at the Summer NAMM Show, is available immediately.

SOLO – with its ‘extremely tight’ supercardioid pattern for best results on live vocals, guitar amps and drums either in the studio or on stage – is thought to be the world’s first dynamic mic to be designed, developed and made in the UK.

Promising ‘superb’ off-axis rejection and requiring no EQ, the Sontronics SOLO is designed to be very easy to set up and use, whether the user is a live sound engineer, a gigging vocalist with their own PA or a guitarist recording amps in their home set-up.

Manufactured within ten miles of Sontronics’ headquarters in Dorset, England, the SOLO is engineered from a solid piece of aluminium with black anodised finish. Sontronics says it is also doing its bit for the planet as the packaging (cardboard box, foam packing, printed outer sleeve) is also made within 30 miles of Sontronics HQ and all items are 100% recyclable.

Included with the mic, which comes with a Lifetime Warranty, is a clip and thread adapter plus a protective transport pouch as well.
