Tascam announces new 64-track solid state recorder

Tascam has lifted the curtain on a new 64-track recorder, in addition to a ‘recording studio in a box’ bundle.

The DA-6400 (main picture) is a new 64-track solid state recorder that records to an internal SSD drive caddy for live and event recording. Professional I/O options like MADI and Dante make it ideal for live recording, event capture, or as a backup for critical DAW sessions. Available with a single or dual/redundant power supply, the DA-6400 records 64 tracks at 48kHz/24-bit or 32 tracks at 96kHz/24-bit. Included on the rear panel are SMPTE timecode, word clock, RS-422, parallel and Ethernet connections. The DA-6400 features an estimated street price of $3499.99 and will be available in November.

Tascam has also announced the Trackpack 4×4 (pictured above), promising a complete recording solution for musicians. The bundle includes: the company’s US-4×4 audio interface, which features NE5532 op amps, four balanced line outputs and two headphone outputs and is capable of providing up to 57dB; two TM-80 condenser microphones including shockmounts, tabletop mic stands and XLR cables; two sets of TH-02 full-range headphones, and two choices of DAW software for an estimated street price of $349.99, available immediately.
