‘The start of something special’: Producer Aubrey Whitfield launches mentorship scheme

Music producer Aubrey Whitfield has launched a new mentorship programme for up-and-coming producers.

Whitfield, who has worked with the likes of Little Mix, Simon Webbe (Blue), Charlotte Kelly (Soul II Soul) and produced and mixed hundreds of records across a wide range of genres, is offering a new three-month mentorship scheme, which is open to any producers/self-producing artists keen to develop their technical and business skills. The scheme will include one-to-one coaching with Whitfield, with a focus on production and mixing skills, feedback, career development and navigating the music industry.

Applicants can be either a novice producer or a more experienced producer looking to sharpen their skills.

There are currently two spaces available. The process will be repeated every three months. All who apply will have the option of being included in a brand new skill sharing forum, moderated by Whitfield, where producers can seek advice and share productions for feedback.

Applications are now open for the first spaces. To apply, email aubrey@aubreywhitfield.com with links (not file attachments!) to two recently produced tracks. Applicants should also provide a description of why they are seeking mentorship and what areas they are specifically looking to develop. Deadline for applications is November 30.

“This will be my first mentorship scheme and I’m hoping to find producers of the next generation who are looking for a bit of guidance and direction from someone like me who has a diverse range of experience,” said Whitfield. “I’m hoping this is the start of something really special”
