Waves and Steinberg collaborate on new Cubasis plugins

Waves Audio and Steinberg have teamed up to offer Cubasis and Cubasis LE users three in-app purchasable plugins by Waves.

Cubasis is Steinberg’s sequencer app for iPad, similar to its Cubase music production system, “providing the same look and feel as well as project compatibility for easy import to Cubase,” according to Waves.

Waves is providing Cubasis 2.3 with in-app purchases of its revamped and reskinned 25th Anniversary versions of three of its classic plugins: Q10 Equalizer, the AudioTrack channel strip plugin and the L1 Ultramaximizer level maximizer/peak limiter, “thus adding high-end studio quality to professionally mix on an iPad. Each plugin can be purchased individually or together as a bundle.”

The first plugin by Waves, the Q10, is a multiband paragraphic EQ with up to 10 bands of equalisation for mixing and mastering.

AudioTrack includes three processors – EQ, compression and gating – in one plugin, functioning like a mixing console’s channel strip. It features four-band paragraphic equaliser with bell, high-pass, low-pass, and shelving filter options; dynamics section with an adjustable compressor/expander and gate. Input and output faders; separate meters for Comp and Gate gain reduction, and more.

Finally, Waves’ L1 Ultramaximizer is optimised for mastering with its maximiser, look-ahead peak limiter and high-resolution re-quantiser.
