Waves Audio intros WRC-1 Wi-Fi stage router

Waves Audio, provider of pro audio signal processing technologies and audio plugins, has begun shipping its WRC-1 Wi-Fi Stage Router, an advanced rack-mountable wireless router designed for pro-audio applications.

A suitable partner for Waves MyMon in-ear monitor mixing app, and similar audio set-ups that require secure wireless connectivity, it facilitates remote control of audio consoles and PA equipment in venues, stage productions, education and houses of worship.

With rugged industrial build quality, and enhanced RF distribution to maintain a secure and dependable link, the manufacturer says the WRC-1 exceeds the capabilities of standard routers, to better serve the needs of live sound engineers, stage productions and other live audio and AV environments.

The WRC-1 features a rugged 19-inch rack-mountable 1U  metal chassis and supports simultaneous dual-band operation (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz).

Connectivity includes five 10/100/1000 (1 WAN and 4 LAN) Gigabit Ethernet ports, two pro-grade lockable RJ45 ports and 3 standard RJ45 ports. The WRC-1 has an integrated USB3 hub with fast charging for mobile devices, and can function as a DLNA player with balanced analogue XLR stereo outputs.

While the Waves WRC-1 ships with basic router management software to control the most common features required by users, it can be augmented with a more advanced feature set by installing a free advanced firmware package.
