API review of 2011: April

API’s review of 2011 takes a look at April, a key month in the pro audio calendar, with a number of high-profile product launches taking place around the Prolight + Sound event in Frankfurt.

As ever, the month of April is generally dominated by the annual trade fair Prolight + Sound and the surrounding product launches and announcements. And as 2011 chose not to break with tradition, we have compiled a list of some of the major talking points surrounding the Frankfurt show.

Audio-Technica took to the exhibition floor to unveil a raft of new condenser and dynamic broadcast microphones, as did Digico, which unveiled a host of new additions to its SD Series of digital mixing consoles.

Meanwhile, EAW utilised the Prolight + Sound platform to announce the appointment of Jerrold Stevens to the role of director of the firm’s Application Support Group.

Furthermore, dBTechnologies launched its eagerly awaited DVA T12 line array module, amongst a host of other products.

In other news, the free event Peace One Day was staged during PALME ME.
