BVE, the UK’s biggest event for the broadcast and production industry returns to ExCeL London from February 24th – 26th 2015, and registration is now open.

The exhibition will once again be the chosen launch venue for many new technologies and products. Over 95 per cent of space is already sold, and confirmed exhibitors include Avid, Blackmagic Design, Roland, Sennheiser and Sony.

This year’s seminar programme will also see nine theatres present over 120 hours of free sessions from "the cream of British broadcast and film industry talent," covering all aspects of the industry from commissioning to distribution innovations.

The Skills & Networking Zone enables all visitors to talk to experts sharing their knowledge and advice on business concerns and career progression. Highlights include BECTU’s CV clinic and BBC Academy’s hands-on file delivery workshops.

The event will also address the looming skills shortage in production and engineering, with a dedicated afternoon for the ‘Broadcasters of the Future’ taking place on Thursday February 26th from midday. The tailored sessions across all the theatres will aim to educate and advise students, recent graduates and young people starting out in the industry, highlighting the skills they need and how to get them.

“When live theatrical events are being broadcast to cinemas in 4K, and the AV world is converging with ‘traditional’ broadcast, the very term ‘broadcast’ becomes something much wider than before," said event director Alison Willis. "It’s increasingly important to have an event where people from all areas can come together to discuss their experiences, share their knowledge and learn from each other, and our aim with BVE is to ask the right questions and bring in experts who can answer them.”

BVE 2015 now represents the only comprehensive event in the UK for broadcast and production professionals, according to the organisers, following the decision to close BVE North. Willis explained: “BVE North was launched in 2011 in response to the move by the BBC and several other broadcast industry organisations to Salford. We wanted to provide a forum for all those who had relocated and it was very well received by visitors and exhibitors alike.

"Three years on, we know that more and more visitors from outside the M25 are attending the London event so we so we have decided to put all our efforts into the main show and make it appealing to all UK regions.”
