Hungary?s ‘The Real World’ broadcast by iLive

The audio broadcast feed for RTL Klub TV channel’s Való Világ (Real World) reality show in Hungary was handled by Allen & Heath’s iLive digital mixing system.

The show’s producers required two separate systems running for 24 hours a day, in order to pick up different material for the final edit. The system was installed by A&H’s national distributor, Audmax, in collaboration with system integrator, Rexfilm. An iDR10 modular MixRack was installed in a studio room managing 32 inputs, and a second iDR10 in the CAR-room managing 24 inputs and 48 outputs. Each of the MixRacks were connected via ACE to iLive-144 control surfaces located in the sound control room and fitted with Ethersound to network them together for input sharing. The programme’s sound engineers then used iLive Editor to manage both systems.

“iLive was selected for its responsive, simple interface, as well as the system’s audio networking possibilities, the availability of a large number of channels, and the system’s renowned reliability,” explained Audmax’s Attila Arki. “iLive’s audio networking options meant we did not need lots of analogue cables, while the system offered a new level of flexibility which allowed us to resolve the installation’s complex DSP requirements quickly and easily. The EtherSound option enabled the two iLive racks to share inputs, making it possible for us to create 64 channels over a single CAT5 cable.”
