Qobuz brings 24-bit hi-res streaming to Sonos

Qobuz is the first music platform to deliver 24-bit hi-res audio to Sonos speakers.

This means that Qobuz users can now listen to studio quality audio seamlessly on their Sonos speakers, via the Sonos S2 app.

“Qobuz has always strived to make the highest quality audio accessible, as people become more interested in better sound,” said Qobuz USA Managing Director Dan Mackta. “Now, on Sonos devices, we’re making it easy for millions more people to experience the improvement Hi-Res audio can make.”

Since its launch in 2013, Qobuz has became a firm favourite among audiophiles and was the first to offer 16-bit FLAC streaming on Sonos.

Along with top-notch audio quality, the platform brings expert curation, exclusive editorial content and liner notes. Qobuz currently offers more than 70 million tracks and is adding more in hi-res on a daily basis.

The new Sonos capability marks the latest step in the brand’s continued expansion in hardware partnerships. Qobuz already works with a number of major brands including Naim and Cambridge Audio.

“Our open platform enables partners to bring the best of their experiences to the Sonos system and our mutual customers,” said Sonos Director of Product Marketing Ryan Richards. “Qobuz has been at the forefront of high resolution music streaming, and we look forward to customers enjoying their music with the clarity, depth, and room-filling sound of Sonos.”

Qobuz’ 24-bit hi-res streaming is available now on Sonos in the UK, US, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland.
