MPG Awards 2015

The Music Producers Guild will begin accepting nominations for its 2015 Awards on September 1st 2014.

The event is put on every year to recognise the achievements of the UK’s top producers, engineers, remixers and mastering engineers. Following a successful move to its new venue, the Awards will once again take place at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in Vauxhall, London on Thursday February 12th 2015.

"The enormous success of this year’s event has certainly set the bar high," said MPG chairman Steve Levine. "An exclusive performance by Trevor Horn’s band The Producers, which included a guest appearance from Seal, was really well received and we have every intention of repeating that success in 2015 with yet another exclusive performance from a ‘surprise’ band.

"But star performances aside, what really make the MPG Awards special are the people we celebrate. These are recording professionals who make a massive contribution to the success of the UK music industry but don’t always get their names in lights. On February 12th 2015 they will be firmly in the spotlight and we hope the industry will once again get behind these Awards and give our winners the recognition they deserve."

Previous winners include Alan Moulder & Flood (pictured), Paul Epworth, Brian Eno, Trevor Horn and Sir George Martin. There are 15 different award categories, with the highlight being UK Producer of the Year, the winner of which automatically goes on to receive the BRIT Award for Best Producer.

The online nominations process will run until September 30th 2014. Anyone can send in nominations for 12 of the categories, while the remaining three – Innovation Award, Inspiration Award and Outstanding Contribution to UK Music – are in the gift of the MPG.
